Triplex Penis

The penile triplex is a specialized diagnostic ultrasound necessary for the study of erectile disorders. It provides us with important information about both the anatomy of the penis and the condition of its vessels.

With this examination, anatomical lesions such as wounds, scars, and calcifications are recognized, i.e. findings compatible with various diseases such as Peyronie's disease. The penile triplex also studies erectile function.

In order to achieve an erection, it is necessary to increase the blood flow in the penile arteries above a certain limit to enable the penis to acquire sufficient hardness and at the same time the venous flow to be reduced to a minimum limit to enable the penis to maintain an erection after having an erection. the desired hardness.

In order to be able to have all the information and medical data required for the functioning of the penis, we induce an erection during the examination. This is done by administering a special substance, alprostadil, which causes vasodilation in the penile vessels and activates the erection mechanism. During the examination, the andrologist takes successive measurements and records the changes in blood flow in the vessels of the penis.

At the end of the examination we have directly and objectively a very good assessment of the condition of the penis. The penile triplex is a completely specialized test for this and should be performed by specially trained andrologists.
